Keruing

Heavy and strong wood for construction purposes: truck floors, bridges and beams. Thanks to its elasticity and resin content, keruing is well suited for reusable pallets and load-bearing structures.

Keruing (Dipterocarpus spp.) is a heavy, strong hardwood selected specifically for structural and industrial applications demanding high load-bearing capacity and resistance to impact. Density typically ranges from 720–950 kg/m³, placing it alongside the heaviest commercial tropical species. Its natural resin content provides an inherent barrier against moisture and fungal attack that, with appropriate surface treatment, extends service life in exterior applications to EN 350 Class 3 performance. Keruing is the industry standard for heavy-duty truck floors, industrial pallets and reusable packaging systems. Its combination of elasticity under load and density also makes it suitable for load-bearing beams, structural bridges and dock supports.
