Mersawa (Anisoptera spp.) is a light to medium-density SE Asian hardwood valued primarily for its ease of processing, clean straight grain and pale cream to light tan colour that accepts a wide range of stains and finishes. With density ranging 480–640 kg/m³ and an EN 350 Class 4 durability rating, it is strictly an interior species — suited for dry conditions where moisture exposure is controlled and durability demands are modest. Its principal applications are furniture components, interior panelling, plywood face veneers and light joinery such as doors, cabinets and moulding profiles. Mersawa's light weight and clean machining characteristics make it efficient to work at scale for furniture production.
