Tectona grandis
Premium Thai Teak
The gold standard for beauty, stability and durability. Naturally rich in oils and ideal for refined interiors and demanding outdoor use.
Thai teak (Tectona grandis) from Northern Thailand sets the benchmark for architectural timber worldwide. Its natural oil content and silica deposits create intrinsic resistance to moisture, rot, insects and dimensional movement — eliminating the need for chemical treatment in most applications. Kiln-dried to 10–12% MC and surfaced to specification, it arrives fully stable and ready to install. Thai teak performs with equal confidence in demanding exterior environments — facades, decking and marine structures — and refined interiors: flooring, joinery and feature walls. It weathers to a distinguished silver-grey patina outdoors or retains its warm honey tone with periodic oiling. Class 1 durability under EN 350 places it among the most durable commercial timbers on earth. Every Sylvariswoods product is manufactured from this single select-grade species.
