FAQ
Product questions
Can teak cladding be used on an exterior facade?
Yes — teak is one of the best species for exterior cladding in European climates. Specify Marine Grade at 12–15% MC, install on a ventilated batten structure with 20 mm minimum cavity, and plan for natural silvering or annual oil.
What's special about the Extra-Wide 190 mm format?
Width that requires mature, carefully selected logs — the board reads as a single architectural plane rather than a joint line. Not always in stock; typical lead time 6–8 weeks from order, so reserve at design stage.
Shiplap or T&G — which should I choose?
Shiplap gives a defined shadow line between boards; preferred for contemporary facades and feature walls. T&G creates a flat, continuous surface; preferred for ceilings and heritage interiors where the seam should disappear.
Is the 12 mm thickness enough for a facade?
Yes, on a properly detailed ventilated batten system. The structural behaviour comes from the batten grid and fixing spec, not the board thickness. We supply the fixing detail with every facade order.
